Applied Art worked with Producer Joe Pundzak and Purina Mills to create 2D and 3D animations for an introductory video to Purina’s latest horse
feed products.

Several of the projects featured in this montage are broken down to reveal the various layers we created to accomplish the effects.  It was a time consuming labor of love to restore the projects and separate the layers in order to edit them into this piece, and everyone in post and graphics had a part in the process.

Applied Art recently produced a dramatic 3D animation for Wellmark Blue Cross Blue Shield’s groundbreaking ceremony in downtown Des Moines. As a starting point, the client provided architectural files and illustrations.   From these, the graphics department created surfaces and materials, modeled a detailed 3D downtown environment and then finally a dramatic virtual fly-through.

Dumpt is a new television series currently being promoted to networks by Applied Art. This clip is of the show intro and was produced in high-definition (HD) resolution using both 2D and 3D elements composited together in Adobe After Effects.

Working with the ISU Women's Basketball Team, this spot was shot entirely on Applied Art’s state-of-the-art sound stage.  The players were shot over green screen, composited in Adobe After Effects over a virtual 3D environment and then heavily stylized and effected to create an edgy,
charged spot.

Breakdance is an Applied Art promotional piece. Currently it plays on the jumbotron during ISU basketball games. The 3D animation was created using LightWave 3D while the assembly and color effects were achieved with Adobe After Effects. The piece’s custom music was composed with Pro Tools and Reason.

This 3D animated intro was created for Colorbiotics, an industry leader in colorants and coloring systems.  The goal was to create an animation that was dynamic, striking and would match the company’s image and prowess
in the industry.
