The Technology Association of Iowa - How to have a successful Live Event

When something goes wrong at a live event, it usually goes really wrong. That’s simply the nature of live production. Mistakes at live events happen in real time in front of real people and can often spell disaster for a brand’s image. However, the good news is that a flawless live event can do wonders for improving audience engagement if all things go well. The best way to ensure live event success and to avoid certain disaster is to partner with production experts who can guarantee seamless event execution — something we achieved for the Technology Association of Iowa’s (TAI) annual Prometheus Awards.

Live events are extremely valuable for companies looking to more directly engage their audience and build their image. However, due to the nature of live production, things can often go awry without the oversight of a team of experts.

We’ve worked with TAI in assisting with the production of the Prometheus Awards, their annual statewide showcase of Iowa’s technology industry, for the better part of a decade now. For this year’s showcase, we handled a wide range of responsibilities both before and during the event, including:

  • Music copyright clearance
  • Internet connectivity
  • Camera setup/operation
  • Animated graphics
  • Video screen operation
  • Live stream execution
  • Post awards show interviews

As has been the case since the first year of our partnership with TAI, this year’s Prometheus Awards was a huge success. This was thanks to the measures we took in addressing any potential issues that could possibly arise during the event — from music copyright to bandwidth load to camera setup — resulting in a memorable awards showcase.
